A Note from John M. Upledger

Dear Friends,
My Dad's energy, intellect and enthusiasm for life and work have always been very inspiring to me. He was never one to "watch" change happen; he lived, as Gandhi suggested, "the change he wished to see in the world."
Known by most as Dr. John, he was willing to be scrutinized and criticized by some for his beliefs, and for breaking through established professional boundaries to get CranioSacral Therapy "out there" – accessible to the people who could benefit most from it. He understood that the techniques he developed could be ably performed by qualified bodyworkers, physical therapists, dentists, chiropractors, and the many other hands-on healthcare practitioners who serve large numbers of people, of all socioeconomic standings.

Dr. John E. Upledger, Founder (1932-2012)
Dad fine-tuned his clinical acumen with patients that searched the world for solutions to their seemingly unsolvable problems, often being told that he was "their last resort." Rather than evade hefty responsibility, he thrived on meeting the challenges full on. This was apparent in his private practice on Clearwater Beach as well as his involvement in helping to establish free clinics and non-profit foundations for those that otherwise could not afford proper care.
Dr. John truly was a change-agent and an inspiration to many worldwide. His legacy is his pioneering spirit, especially his development of CranioSacral Therapy and related modalities, as well as the Upledger Institute International team that has been created to continue on with his vision. We are honoring his accomplishments by steadfastly moving forward, and by unabashedly continuing to push boundaries.
Curriculum Care
With more than 55 different course titles in the CranioSacral Curriculum alone and over 115 certified instructors worldwide, we've added a team of Ombudsmen to take active roles in monitoring and enhancing course work and the classroom experience. These exceptional and seasoned practitioners are ensuring that we remain at the top of our game - providing students with the most informative, enjoyable, and rewarding educational experience available. They manage existing course titles as well as review and contribute to the development of new courses and applications each year.
Research
You've felt the rhythm, you've seen the results, and you know it works. And there is science to back it up. After all, science was at the heart of the development of CST - Dr. John was a professor and researcher in biomechanics as well as an osteopathic physician and surgeon. To keep current with new medical discoveries, we have a robust effort to review, organize and lead ongoing scientific research. Foundation
The Dr. John E. Upledger Foundation's mission is to perpetuate the therapeutic treatment and education of CranioSacral Therapy. Through the Foundation, we provide treatment for those who might otherwise not have access, offer scholarships for continuing education, and support research and development of innovative programs. I'm sure it makes him very happy that we are able to continue his life's work.

Clinic
We are very pleased that we are able to continue the efforts of the Upledger Clinic, with Kat Perry overseeing the continuing growth and development of our Palm Beach Gardens clinic, as well as future growth of clinics and intensive programs worldwide.
Worldwide Collaboration
Our global initiatives continue to expand through Upledger Satellites and international partners. CST students can participate in an Upledger workshop in one of 400+ cities, in over 70 countries. Networking opportunities for like-minded practitioners are unparalleled in the industry - CST students reside in over 110 countries!
